This explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It's written to be read rather than to cover us — if anything here is unclear, ask and we'll explain it.
Who we are
On the tech provides websites and follow-up systems to trades businesses in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described on this page.

What we collect
We only collect what we need to reply to you and to run the service.
- When you request a lead-leak check: your first name, business name, trade, website or Instagram address, mobile number, preferred contact method, and how you found us.
- When you become a customer: the business details needed to build and run your site, plus billing information held by Stripe.
- When you visit this site:basic technical information such as pages viewed and approximate region, used to understand what's working.
We do not collect special category data, and we do not ask for card details directly — payments are handled by Stripe.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and carry out the review you asked for.
- To provide, run and support the service you've paid for.
- To take payment and meet our accounting obligations.
- To understand which pages and channels bring people here.
Our lawful bases are your consent (for the enquiry form), performance of a contract (once you're a customer), and our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your details, and we don't pass them to lead brokers.
- We don't add you to a marketing list because you asked for a review.
- We don't share your enquiry with other tradespeople.
Who we share it with
Only the suppliers needed to run the service — currently our hosting provider (Vercel), our payment processor (Stripe), our scheduling tool and the messaging services we use to reply to you. Each processes data on our instructions.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become customers: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Customer records: for the life of the contract and six years afterwards, for tax.
- Website analytics: retained in aggregate.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to processing, or withdraw consent at any time. Ask and we'll action it within one month, free of charge.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, tell us first and we'll try to put it right. You also have the right to raise it with the UK's data protection regulator.
